Registration Guidelines
- The contest is open to all Filipino cosplayers of all ages.
- Registration is on Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 12:30PM to 2:30PM
- To register, you must fill up the Face-Off Application Form and sign up at the designated Cosplay registration area during the actual event day.
- Only SIXTY (60) Cosplayers will be accepted to compete. For slot reservation, please access Face-Off Official Website – http://www.faceoffcarshow.com
- Your completely filled-up application forms must also be presented with the following:
- Pictures of the character that you will cosplay
- If you are 17 years old and below, you are required to submit a waiver signed by your parent/guardian confirming that you have their consent to enter the contest.
Reminder: Cut-off time for registration is at 2:30PM (Nov. 21)
Contest Categories
- Solo – one (1) participant per entry
- Group – minimum of three (3) and maximum of seven (7) individuals per entry
General Guidelines
- You may cosplay any characters from Anime, various Animation from different countries and Online/Console Games
- No corrosive or flammable substances area allowed. You may still use fake blood or confetti but please keep the clutter at a minimum. This is enforced to ensure the safety of everyone onstage.
- You may carry weapons that conform with the following:
- Real weapons are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED. If you must carry a weapon, you can make it out of cardboard or wood. Please inform us on what weapon you will be bringing in for the contest.
- All props should be kept/carried with utmost caution. The Organizers will not be held responsible for any injury resulting from a participant’s negligence.
- The Organizers reserve the right to bar the use of props that is potentially dangerous/harmful.
- Profanity and rude gestures will not be tolerated onstage. Anyone who violates this rule will be automatically disqualified and permanently banned from all Face-Off Events.
- Judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.
- The Organizers may photograph or film participants at its discretion. Entry into this contest constitutes an agreement by the entrants to allow the Organizers to use their likeness/image, etc. in any current/future advertisement, promotion, or product.
- The Organizer’s employees, event suppliers, event partners and their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity are disqualified from entering this contest.
- By entering the competition, it is agreed that you have read, considered and concurred to all the mechanics and rules published on the Face-Off Website. Lack of knowledge on the rules/mechanics will not be an excuse.
- The Organizer will provide dressing stations for all cosplayers, but will not provide storage for your personal belongings. Be sure to bring some assistants to help you secure your personal effects.
- SOLO Category
- Only one (1) stagehand will be allowed per individual and must be cleared with the organizer prior to the actual competition. Your stagehand must wear black shirt only.
- Participants can only win one (1) of the three (3) major awards
- All participants have the chance to win one (1) of the special prizes, regardless if you received a major award or not.
- Criteria for judging:
- ACCURACY – 30%
How closely your costume resembles that of the character you are cosplaying - CRAFTSMANSHIP – 30%
Level of creativity in assembling/constructing your accessories and props. - PRESENTATION – 30%
How well you presented/projected your character onstage - AUDIENCE IMPACT – 10%
- ACCURACY – 30%
- GROUP Category
- Only three (3) stagehands will be allowed per group and must be cleared with the organizer prior to the actual competition. Your stagehands must wear black shirt only.
- All groups will be required to perform a skit with a minimum length of 30 seconds and a max length of 3 minutes. Your group may present a play, dance, sing or a choreographed fight scene onstage.
- Microphones will be provided by the organizer, but there will be no background music for your group’s skit. However, you may provide your own background music in audio CD format. Other formats will not be accepted. Please forward your audio CD to the organizer at least 3 hours before the program begins. The Organizer will not be held responsible for any inconvenience resulting from faulty recording or music medium.
- Criteria for juding:
- ACCURACY – 30%
